This might be the coolest reTreats. yet! Join us for a very special tour and exclusive access to The Octavia Lab. Located inside the stunning gem that is the Los Angeles Public Library Central Branch, the lab contains all kinds of machinery used for creative projects - from sewing machines to a full-on 3D printer, the creative inspiration never ends.
We’ll meet at reception around noon to get everyone signed up for a library card, take a peek at the various research rooms and architecture, then head down to the lab to learn more about Altadena native, storyteller and the lab’s namesake, Octavia Butler.
Once we get acclimated, you can take advantage of our reservations for the podcast studio, the photography studio, the illustration station, and three computers with several editing + design programs. Obviously, you are also welcome to use anything in the space (poster printer? digital media converter? laser cutter? embroidery machine? This place blows me away). Thanks to you and what we have created together, we are lucky to have been granted a priority spot at the most popular stations on the most popular day!
